Most Warheads have no gluten ingredient, but Sour Twists contain wheat and the hard candy is made on wheat-shared equipment.

Why
Warheads is a range of quite different products made in more than one plant, and the answer changes across it.
Sour Twists are the outright no. They are a twisted, extruded liquorice-style candy, and like every candy in that format they are built on wheat flour. The label carries a mandatory "Contains Wheat and Milk (Lactose)" declaration. These are produced at a different plant and bagged in Impact's Wisconsin facility. If you take one thing from this page, it is that the Twists are not a variant of the sour candy you think you're buying.
The hard candy, worms, cubes and sprays have no gluten ingredient. Extreme Sour Hard Candy, Worms, Chewy Cubes, Sour Spray, Double Drops, Extreme Heat Worms, Colossal Sours, Twisted Taffy, Dippin' Rings and Pucker Packs are all reported without wheat, barley, rye or malt in the formula. Sour candy is typically sugar, corn syrup, malic and citric acid, flavour and colour, a gelatin or starch gel in the gummy versions. Note that Impact does not publish per-product ingredient lists on the WARHEADS website, so this rests on the allergen document and on printed pack labels rather than on a published recipe.
The shared-equipment disclosure is the real complication. Impact's own Product Allergen Information PDF lists WARHEADS Extreme Sour Hard Candy as "Manufactured on equipment that processes peanut, milk, soy and wheat products." That is the flagship product carrying an explicit wheat cross-contact statement from the manufacturer.
What that advisory does and does not mean. "Manufactured on equipment that processes wheat" is voluntary precautionary labelling. It says wheat runs on the same line and the company cannot guarantee zero transfer. It does not mean wheat is an ingredient, and it is not a legal standard, two plants with identical practices can label differently, and a company that says nothing has not necessarily got a cleaner line. Treating an advisory as a verdict would rule out half the candy aisle; ignoring it would be reckless for a sensitive celiac reader. The honest reading is: no gluten in the recipe, unquantified trace risk, no testing published.
And there is a documented reason to be cautious about the disclosures themselves. In February 2025 SnackSafely.com published an advisory about Impact's allergen reporting: after a reader flagged that precautionary labelling on a retail listing differed from the information Impact had supplied to SnackSafely, the site received conflicting feedback about the manufacturing processes, lost confidence in the reporting, ended Impact's membership and pulled WARHEADS products from its guides. SnackSafely noted it had no reason to believe Impact violated FDA allergen disclosure rules, the company failed SnackSafely's stricter standard. That is not evidence of gluten in the candy. It is a reason this page stops short of a clean "yes".
There is no gluten-free claim and no certification. Impact does not label Warheads gluten-free. The most authoritative document is an allergen matrix, not a gluten statement, and gluten and wheat are not the same question. A product can be wheat-free and still contain barley malt, which allergen matrices do not capture because barley is not a US major allergen.
How much risk is this?
Celiac disease: avoid Sour Twists absolutely. That is wheat flour. For the hard candy specifically, weigh the manufacturer's own wheat cross-contact statement: no ingredient risk, real shared-line risk, no test data. Many celiac readers eat these without issue; if you react to trace exposure, choose a certified sour candy instead. The worms, cubes and sprays sit in the same category and the pack label is the only per-product guide.
Non-celiac gluten sensitivity: everything except the Twists is very likely fine. Advisory-level exposure is trace-level exposure.
Wheat allergy: the Twists are off-limits outright. Take the equipment advisory on the hard candy seriously, since allergic response is not dose-dependent the way celiac damage is.
Bulk bins and party mixes: Warheads are commonly sold loose. A bulk scoop shared with pretzels or wheat-based liquorice is a larger exposure than anything happening in the factory.
What to have instead

That is an ingredient inference, not documentation, the same class of evidence Warheads already gives you, not a step up from it.

Does the sour coating contain anything gluten-related? The sour coating is malic acid, citric acid and sometimes tartaric acid, all gluten-free. "Malic" and "malt" are unrelated despite the similarity, malic acid comes from apples or is made synthetically, and has nothing to do with barley.
Who owns Warheads? Impact Confections, based in Wisconsin. It is not a Mars Wrigley or Hershey brand, which matters because those two companies publish far more detailed gluten documentation than Impact does.

Overall source tier: C. Impact publishes an allergen matrix, not a gluten statement, and does not publish ingredient lists per product on the brand site. That matrix confirms the wheat in Sour Twists and the shared equipment on the hard candy, but it cannot confirm the absence of barley-derived ingredients, because barley is not a US major allergen and allergen matrices do not track it.
